Indoor Rock Climbing

at the Adventure Centre

The YMCA Adventure Centre is a modern facility which we maintain to the highest health and safety standards.

In the main arena there is climbing terrain to challenge all ages and abilities, with 46 top ropes in position and over 100 set routes (over 80% are leadable).  We also have a dedicated bouldering area full of interesting challenges.

Our staff are friendly and knowledgeable and we pride ourselves on the consistent delivery of great guest experiences. The YMCA Climbing Centre is a welcoming environment and a social hub for local and international visitors – beginners and experienced climbers alike.

So come on down to the YMCA Adventure Centre!  We are easy to find, centrally located just 100 metres off Moorhouse Avenue.  We are open 7 days a week and have a full range of hire equipment available.

From Friday 3 December, due to government regulations and requirements, a My Vaccine Pass will be required to access our facilities. Please note the following:

  • Continue to scan in on arrival
  • Climbing wall users can have their My Vaccine Pass added to their account, so that it just needs to be presented once, for the length of its validity.
  • Clip ‘n Climb users must have a staff member sight it on each visit.
  • We ask that you wear masks when on the ground in both the climbing wall and Clip ‘n Climb, when actively climbing they may be removed.
  • We no longer have any restrictions on spectators and adult supervisors in Clip ‘n Climb.
  • If you are sick or unwell please stay home, if you do attend and you are unwell please respect our staff who may ask you to leave our facility and obtain a COVID-19 test.

The fee for an adult is $32 (includes all the gear you need, entry and registration). For those with their own harness and shoes, the entry fee is $20.
We offer discounted rates for students and climbers under 16 years of age.

Induction briefings run on the half hour, every hour.
