Receptionist

Bishopdale Recreation Centre, Part Time
 
We are looking for a superstar to be our early bird Receptionist at our busy Bishopdale Recreation Centre.

Our Receptionists are an essential part of our Bishopdale YMCA playing a pivotal role in ensuring our day-to-day operations run smoothly. In this role you will be responsible for opening the facility four or five mornings a week, from here every day will be different.

You will become part of the YMCA community, meet and greet our customers, assist with bookings for Fitness Classes, Gym Inductions, Court/Venue hire, Basketball and Gymnastics Programmes, LifeFit for older Adults Programmes, Holiday Programmes, Gym Memberships and much, much more. With assistance from our supportive team, you will be a wealth of knowledge in no time.

Fixed rostered hours Tuesday – Friday (optional Saturday)
Tuesday 5:45am-10:00am (4.25 hrs)
Wednesday 5:45am-10:00am (4.25 hrs)
Thursday 5:45-11:00am (5.25 hrs)
Friday 5:45am-11:00am (5.25 hrs)
Saturday 7:45am-1:00pm (5.25 hrs)

Are you an enthusiastic, experienced Barista looking for a part-time position, who can work weekends?

This is an exciting employment opportunity for an individual who can work in a fast paced environment, with a passion for great coffee and exceptional customer service to join the team at BEAN AT THE Y.

Key Tasks

  • Making consistently outstanding coffee for all customers
  • Ensuring all requests are dealt with in a professional timely manner
  • Working well under pressure
  • Ordering & stock control
  • Maintaining and cleaning equipment

This position is for 25 hours per week.
Fridays: 6.30am to 1.30pm
Saturdays: 6.30am to 3.30pm
Sundays: 6.30am to 3.30pm

Outdoor Education Instructors

YMCA Wainui Park
YMCA Wainui Park offers a unique work and training experience for outdoor instructors, we want to find a diverse group of inspiring and energetic outdoor enthusiasts – from entry level ‘first time’ instructors with minimal experience to those with specific technical outdoor expertise and qualifications.

We are currently recruiting instructional staff for the next season which starts in August 2021.

Volunteer positions and salaried positions are on offer, with guaranteed employment for a fixed term contract from August 30 2021 to end of May 2022. Accommodation is provided at Wainui Park.

Holiday Programme Supervisors

YMCA City
We are always looking for passionate, outgoing and reliable individuals to supervise our busy school holiday programmes!

We need supervisors that are at least 20 years of age, have a current First Aid Certificate, and have a good understanding and experience of working with young people.

We currently run active, creative, performing and general programmes, which you will help create, plan and develop.

This is full time work while school holidays are running, with up to 6 hours of additional paid training prior to the programme starting.

Holiday Programme Volunteers

YMCA City
Working on a holiday programme is a fantastic way to develop leadership skills and gain experience working with people. Holiday programmes are a huge amount of fun and a very valuable way to give back to the community and gain invaluable skills. Each school holiday period the YMCA runs up to 8 different programmes all over Christchurch City!

As a volunteer leader you will work as part of a team, alongside and experienced supervisor, to run the programme. You can expect to get involved wi the kids, manage your group and the behaviours, role model a positive attitude and have a great experience!

Some of the activities you may be involved in are: movies, tenpin bowling, mini-golf, swimming, Antarctic Centre, sports, art & crafts, outdoor adventure days, inddor climbing and the list goes on! You will be required between the hours of 8:30am to 5pm, and must be 15yrs or over.
