Alternative Education
The YMCA runs a fulltime course for 13 - 16 year olds who for one reason or another are not achieving in the mainstream school system.
Students need to be referred to this course by their school.
Te Kaupapa Hononga (TKH) "The purpose is connection" - is based at the City YMCA, 12 Hereford Street.
The programme designed to redirect and develop the students towards a positive future: with the opportunity to study a range of subjects and work towards and achieve NZQA credits, and participate in a range of recreation based activities.
