Aim for the highest cloud so that if you miss it, you will hit a lofty mountain

For over 25 years the YMCA Christchurch has provided programmes that offer a safe and positive learning environment for young people in education, training and employment related skills.

Our FREE COURSES aim to raise self-esteem, confidence, and motivation to develop life skills in each student so they can realise their potential and achieve.

The YMCA core values are built into the design and delivery of all our Education programmes.

Project Hope

Aimed at 14-17 year olds, this unique YMCA education programme is designed to redirect and develop young people towards a positive future, creating pathways either back into mainstream education, into further training or employment.

An important part of our programme is to develop confidence and life skills in young people – adhering to guidelines, respect for self and others, participation, and using support networks.

Students have the opportunity to study a range of subjects and work towards achieving NZQA credits, as well as participating in a wide range of recreational, cultural and arts based activities.
