Street Prints
Otautahi 2017

In December 2017, YMCA Christchurch in association with PAINT (Pushing Art in New Zealand Trust), present Street Prints Otautahi 2017.

This street art festival will see large scale murals painted in the central city, New Brighton and Lyttelton – bolstered and complimented by a diverse range of events and activities for all ages for two weeks starting on 20 December.

PAINT is a charitable trust whose purpose is to create opportunities to promote and support street art for urban beautification, creativity and positive economic outcomes for New Zealand.

Together, YMCA Christchurch and PAINT, aim to deliver a street art festival which will celebrate all forms of street art including street dance, theatre and music as well as adding to Christchurch’s already impressive collection of large scale street murals.

Street Prints Otautahi 2017 will be selecting ten aspiring young artists to be involved – creating their own art and learning from the amazing line up of local and international artists involved. This ambitious apprenticeship programme will be offer a chance-of-a-lifetime opportunity to work closely with some of the best artists in the world. Anyone aged between 15 and 20 years at the time of the festival can apply.
