The Adventure Centre is a modern facility which we maintain to the highest health and safety standards. We are easy to find, centrally located just 100 metres off Moorhouse Avenue and are open 7 days with a full range of hire equipment available.
In the main arena there is climbing terrain to challenge all ages and abilities, with 46 top ropes in position and over 100 set routes (over 80% are leadable). We also have a dedicated bouldering area full of interesting challenges.
Our staff are friendly and knowledgeable and we pride ourselves on the consistent delivery of great guest experiences. The Climbing Centre is a welcoming environment and a social hub for local and international visitors – beginners and experienced climbers alike.

Outside of our advertised hours the climbing centre is available by prior booking for school, college, corporate and community groups.
We offer a range of deals to suit casual and regular climbers at the Adventure Centre.
Special deals are also available for Schools, Groups and Birthday Parties.
Anyone visiting the Centre for the first time is required to go through an induction process and climbers under 16 years of age are required to have a parent or guardian sign the registration form.
The minimum age to climb is 5 years old, but please note that climbers must be at least 13 years of age to be able to ‘belay’ other climbers unless they have gained a Top Rope Belay Licence or are climbing with the Flying Geckos climbing club.
The fee for an adult is $32.50 (includes all the gear you need, entry and registration). For those with their own harness and shoes, the entry fee is $20.50.
We offer discounted rates for students and climbers under 16 years of age.
Induction briefings run on the quarter hour, every hour (>subject to staff availability – please book or call before coming in for an induction to avoid disappointment).
After your induction, you can sign up on the day for our special deal : 2 weeks of unlimited climbing (all gear included) for $15 only!
Following your induction you’re part of our climbing wall family and can use the facilities as and when suits you, have a look into our membership options for discounted options on our everyday entry fee

We have gift vouchers available for purchase either at the Adventure Centre or online. These are valid for use at either Clip ‘n Climb, for entry into the Climbing Wall, gear hire, or purchases.
Are you ready to try a new sport?
Try rock climbing at the Adventure Centre with our Wednesday Afternoon High School League.
Each Wednesday from 3pm, high school students from throughout Christchurch gather at the Adventure Centre to enjoy indoor rock climbing. No experience necessary, full training provided by our friendly staff (it’s easy!) and lots of challenges and competitions to enjoy in a relaxed and fun atmosphere.

We offer a wide range of courses for beginners, intermediate and experienced climbers of all ages.
These courses are designed to help climbers improve their knowledge and technique.
Off The Wall is located on the mezzanine floor overlooking both climbing arenas. This space is used for birthday party bookings year round, but is also available outside of Clip ‘n Climb hours for other functions.
Behind Off The Wall is a multi-purpose function room, themed as an Alpine Lodge. This is used for Club and Corporate Meetings. It is a 12m x 6m room with a very distinctive character, and is also available for hire.
