YMCA Wainui Park is a great venue for a corporate team building or training retreat. We offer:
- Affordable, quality venue that is 'different' from your usual hotel-based event
- Rural focus - no easy access to bars/cafes/shopping to provide temptation to wander

- One-stop-shop - we can organise accommodation, conference rooms, catering, team building as you wish, all in the one place with the one liaison person and the one invoice
- Down to earth autonomy - we have a budget price tag, and a 'help yourself' mentality which allows conference organisers and participants freedom to run things as the day/mood/circumstances dictates. We will not be running around after you either - you are invited to take ownership of the facilities.
- Exclusive use - the whole building and surround grounds are exclusive to your group. Great for networking, team building, bonding and socialising
Corporate Experience with a Social Conscience
You can tell your staff that the money spent on the conference at Wainui is directly helping the Canterbury community. The YMCA is a not-for-profit that puts its energy into building strong people, strong families, strong communities. Your support directly feeds into the programmes and services we provide at Wainui Park for children, as well as the programmes and services we run at the Christchurch Y for a wide range of children, young people and adults across the city.
Wainui Park supports environmental education alongside outdoor education and leadership training. We have a number of initiatives in action aimed to educate children and young people about environmental and sustainability issues, as well as to decrease our impact on the planet.
Prices
There are a range of accommodation options available at Wainui Park from tenting to cabins to lodge-style ensuited rooms (Wainui Heights). See Wainui Park Facilities for more details.
Corporates are welcome to utilise any of these options but most prefer Wainui Heights because of the increased comfort afforded in this building.
Wainui Heights offers ensuited rooms which can sleep 1-4 depending on your needs. Prices begin at $32 per person per night and go up to $95 per person per night for a single ensuited room.
There are minimum nightly fees applicable to smaller groups.
Conference facilities and dining room are part of the accommodation package with no extra charge for these.
Catering options are available to suit any budget - usually starting at $75 per person per day for 3 meals and morning/afternoon tea.
