After School Recreation

at Bishopdale

Basketball

The YMCA invented the game of basketball and consequently it is no surprise that we run great basketball training and development squads for children.

In terms 2 and 3 we also operate a school based competition league.

Get your child involved and see them develop skills, friendships and a team spirit while also staying fit and healthy.

Gymnastics

Based in our large Bishopdale stadium, we have a variety of different recreational gymnastics classes to suit school aged children up to 14 years of age.

Each child will gain confidence in hand eye coordination, balance, flexibility, strength as well as gymnastics movements and skills.

These classes are a great introduction to gymnastics, and our skill card allows children to progress from one level to the next at their own pace.

Groovy Movers Dance

Our Jazz Hip-Hop class is designed to cater for any level of dance ability for children between the ages of 5-8 years. We want to open up new possibilities for children whilst seeking to instill a sense of enjoyment and self accomplishment within the dancers.

We teach the essential fundamentals of dance where the children will learn full body stretches, combinations and choreography whilst gaining increased self esteem and confidence through mastering new skills.

At the end of term we invite friends and families of the dancers for a performance so the children can present what they have been working on during the term.
